Lighting Design for Big Canoe Mountain Homes
Big Canoe's 8,000 acres of Blue Ridge terrain — three lakes, three waterfalls, and rolling mountain lots spanning Dawson and Pickens counties — call for a different lighting approach than a flat suburban yard, and being this close to our own home base in Dawsonville means we know the community well.
Built for Big Canoe's mountain terrain
Many Big Canoe homes sit on sloped, heavily wooded lots with real elevation change between the driveway, the house, and the land around it — exactly the kind of terrain where lighting needs to follow the grade rather than assume a flat yard. We light steps, retaining walls, and the tree line at the angles each property actually has, so the path to the door is safe and clearly defined after dark.
With close to 40 percent of Big Canoe's residents using their homes as second homes or weekend retreats, we also build for durability and low-maintenance reliability — rustic-luxury homes near Lake Sconti or Lake Petit get the same warm, timber-and-stone-appropriate lighting approach we use on other North Georgia mountain lake properties, on systems that hold up whether or not anyone's there to notice a fixture go out.

From first sketch to season after season
Design Visit
We walk your property at dusk with you, identify the architecture and landscaping worth highlighting, and build a fixture-by-fixture lighting plan.
Custom Installation
Low-voltage LED fixtures are installed and aimed by hand, wiring is buried and concealed, and every light is fine-tuned on-site after dark.
Year-Round Maintenance
Bulbs, transformers, and timers are serviced seasonally so your lighting looks as good in year five as it did on opening night.
